Balliang East Primary School is a rural school located on the Werribee plain about 15 km south of Bacchus Marsh. It was established in 1913. Our school caters for children from Balliang East, Balliang, Parwan, Rowsley and other localities. Over the last decade enrolments have fluctuated between 30 and 40.
The school provides many opportunities for parents and the local community to be involved in school activities such as classroom helpers, school camps and excursions, sports coaching, dancing, art and crafts, social events and working around the school grounds.
Currently our school consists of three main classrooms, a multi-purpose room with kitchen facilities, an art/science room as well as the office space. The spacious grounds include a large oval, plenty of play equipment and a full size netball/basketball court.
We use our small size to advantage by having small classes so that students can receive special attention and can be treated as individuals with their own special interests, strengths and needs. Our students have many opportunities to develop responsibilities for school activities and for the students around them.
The school has a well-developed technology infrastructure with a stable curriculum network for student use supported by a class set of laptops, iPads, a Video Conferencing Unit, a wireless network, colour printers, and access to cameras, video and online learning the Grade 4-6 students have the opportunity to lease their own laptop.
