Student Enrolment Age
To start primary school your child will need to turn five years of age by 30 April of the year that they start school. A child must be at school (or registered for home schooling) in the year that they turn six years of age – this is the compulsory school starting age.
Local Neighbourhood Boundaries/Zones
Our school is zoned to families living within the local designated boundary. By entering your address into https://www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au/ you will be able to determine your designated neighbourhood school. We will consider enrolling students from outside our boundary if we have capacity, however we need to take current class size and availability of classrooms into consideration prior to accepting students.
School Tours
You may contact us to arrange a tour of our school. During the tour you will be able to obtain an enrolment form from the school. Please call our office on PH: (03) 5369 5148.
When to Enrol
The Department of Education has released the statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline for the 2026 school year.
The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Balliang East Primary School.
All government primary schools will follow the timeline in 2025 to support Foundation (Prep) enrolments for the 2026 school year.
You can find information and resources about the timeline, including factsheets and a poster at: Enrolling in Foundation (Prep).
You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2026 at Balliang East Primary School from 22 April 2025.
